FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On the occasion of the national holiday of the People’s Republic of China, the Inner Mongolian People’s Party (IMPP) convened an international conference at the Japanese Parliament Building to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party. The event was hosted by the IMPP under the leadership of its current President Mr. Khuvisgalt Khereid.
The conference brought together members of the Japanese National Diet, representatives from the Japanese Parliamentary League for Supporting Southern Mongolia, international supporters, and human rights advocates from various communities.
Among the distinguished guests were:
- His Excellency Mr. Elbegdorj Tsakhia, Former President of Mongolia
- Honorable Dr. Tsewang Gyalpo Arya, Representative at the Liaison Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama for Japan

A congratulatory message was delivered on behalf of the Parliamentary League for Supporting Southern Mongolia, chaired by Hon. Sanae Takaichi, Member of the House of Representatives.In her message, Hon. Takaichi stated, “Wishing that the path to freedom and happiness for all the people of Southern Mongolia will open and lead to a bright future, the members of our parliamentary league will continue to work together with you.”
IMPP President Mr. Khuvisgalt Khereid delivered the keynote address, recounting the century-long history of Southern Mongolia’s struggle for freedom and reaffirming the Party’s unwavering commitment to achieving the independence of Southern Mongolia.
A special highlight of the event was the presence of His Excellency Elbegdorj Tsakhia, Former President of Mongolia, who gave a powerful and inspiring speech. In a special session titled “Conversation with the Former President of Mongolia”, hosted by Mr. Enghebatu Togochog, Director of the Southern Mongolian Human Rights Information Center (SMHRIC) based in New York, President Elbegdorj called on all Mongolians worldwide to unite in defense of their culture, language, identity, and their rights to national freedom.
He emphasized, “Twelve million Mongolians around the world are twelve million Chinggis Khans,” rallying all Mongolians to care for one another and stand in solidarity. He continued, “Each and every Mongolian individual is the spiritual homeland of all other Mongolian individuals around the world.”
The conference was attended by branch leaders and senior members of the IMPP, as well as representatives and activists from Tibetan, Uyghur, Hong Kong, and Chinese democracy movements, along with Japanese supporters and Mongolian brothers and sisters from Kalmyk, Buriat, and Hazara communities.
Certificates of appreciation were presented to the Japanese Parliamentary League for Supporting Southern Mongoliafor their unwavering support of the Southern Mongolian cause within the Japanese Parliament, and to Mr. Hidetoshi Ishiiand Mrs. Yoko Ishii for their great efforts in promoting the cause of Southern Mongolia, including their instrumental role in making the nomination of two Mongolians for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize possible.
A special guest speaker session was held featuring the renowned Southern Mongolian historian and prolific writer Professor Yang Haiying, following a book presentation ceremony in which Professor Yang was presented with the English edition of his book Genocide on the Mongolian Steppe. The English version was translated from Japanese into English by Mr. Enghebatu Togochog and published in the United States.
In recognition of his lifelong struggle and the 30 years he and his entire family have endured in imprisonment and loss of freedom, Mr. Hada was honored with the “Spiritual Leader of Southern Mongolia” award, presented by Mr. Khuvisgalt Khereid, President of the IMPP. Mr. Enghebatu Togochog received the award on Mr. Hada’s behalf and stated that the honor would be personally delivered to him once he regains his freedom.
The conference concluded with the adoption of a resolution declaring that “Recognizing that the Inner Mongolian People’s Party, led by its President Khuvisgalt Khereid, is the sole legitimate successor of this century-long organization and the inheritor of its mission for freedom and independence,” and reaffirming that “Southern Mongolian independence is the only viable path for the survival and flourishing of the Mongolian people under the Chinese colonial rule.”
